Who needs a Fire Risk Assessment

In short, virtually all commercial owners will require a Fire Risk Assessment. However, it does not apply to people’s private homes and property (excluding high-rise flats).

Our expertise extends to conducting construction site fire risk assessments and construction fire strategies across a range of sites, ensuring strict compliance with the guidance outlined in Fire Prevention on Construction Sites: The Joint Code of Practice on the Protection from Fire of Construction Sites and Buildings Undergoing Renovation and HSG168, as well as any insurer requirements and loss prevention standards.

The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, a supplementary element of the Fire Safety Order 2005, introduce new obligations on responsible individuals, particularly in high-rise residential buildings. These mandates include sharing essential information with fire and rescue services for efficient operational responses, providing additional safety measures for high-rise and multi-occupied residential buildings over 11 meters, and furnishing residents with fire safety information and instructions about fire doors.
